TAM works with families looking for advise on how to manage a family member who has dementia. Some of the advise includes; learning about the disease process, activities to do with your family member, ways to distract, how to find the best care, advocacy, help with looking for care and much more. We are your senior advisors from start to finish.
We provide families with dementia care training programs that explain what to expect throughout the disease process.
We offer assistance in finding appropriate care whether it be in the home, assisted living or at a skilled nursing community. We can help with checking in on the family member to make sure they are safe, the groceries are stocked and not expired, and their needs are met.
TAM offers support groups to help families understand they are not alone. TAM also will do seminars for groups who need more information on Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Serving New Haven, Litchfield, Fairfield Counties and others as requested.
The Aging Matrix (TAM) presents the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar which is the required seminare for those pursuing certification who qualify as CDP/Certified Dementia Practitioner or for those who just want to enhance their dementia education. (To see if you qualify for CDP, please see www.NCCDP.org). This could be the first step in your dementia training certification process.
We will also present information to companies to help their employees understand the role of caregiver. We can provide services for EAP programs to help caregivers which will decrease their need to leave work to care for a sick parent.
